Hanover is on the western edge of the Twin Cities, uniquely situated within both Hennepin and Wright Counties. The North Crow River serves as the dividing line between the two counties, and flows through the downtown district.

Park System

Hanover has nine parks and seven miles of trails to enjoy. Parks feature such amenities as archery, overnight camping, playgrounds, sports fields, and a canoe launch. Several free events are hosted annually by the Park Board.

Crow-Hassan Park Reserve

The reserve focuses on the natural environment and wildlife habitat. Beautifully maintained trails allow you to experience all that the park has to offer either on foot or on horseback.

Beebe Lake Regional Park

This popular park features a swimming beach, sand volleyball court, picnic area, group camping areas, fishing pier and hiking/biking trails.

Lake Independence Regional Trail

This nearly 16-mile trail begins in Hanover and snakes between Lake Independence and Lake Katrina. Enjoy spectacular views of the lakes, marshes and wooded foothills.

Fox Hollow Golf Club

This club features 150 acres set along the Crow River. Here you’ll find 18 holes of championship golf on a course that will take you through tall hardwoods and rolling prairies. The practice facility includes a full-length driving range, putting/chipping greens and a practice bunker.

Harvest Festival

A one-day get-together in August to pay tribute to the harvest and encourage a sense of community. Fun activities include a parade, 5K run, car show, carnival games, live music, food, raffle, marketplace and fireworks.

Wright County Fair

Held in July, this spectacular county fair features live music, a mud truck show, classic car show, mega jump stunt show, machinery hill, and of course, food and carnival games!

Reading in the Park

A weekly event hosted by Family Youth Community Connections in Albertville. Each week has a different theme with coordinating activities.

Hanover Historical Center

You’ll find a sense of community here – both past and present. The Historical Society hosts events such as pumpkin decorating, antiques appraisals, caroling, letters to Santa, and more.
